"Hard-hitting Eddie Jones, Hollywood, Calif., reversed an earlier loss Monday night by stopping Allen Thomas, Chicago, in 2:20 of the 4th round. Thomas outboxed Jones in the 1st round, but was in trouble from the 2nd round on and was floored by a left-right to the head early in the 4th. Thomas arose after taking a mandatory eight-count but was soon helpless along the ropes and referee Dave Pearl called a halt." -United Press International
