Eddie Lenny was a boxer of Italian extraction who fought as a featherweight and lightweight from 1896 to 1907. He boxed George Dixon for the world featherweight title in New York, November 21, 1899, it has been said the decision was a close decision and that Lenny was Baron Dougherty's first fighter.
Lenny's record on BoxRec does not contain some claimed fights that have not been verified. In a record published in the Philadelphia Item, he (or his manager) claimed the following fights, all or some of which may have occurred in private, but not reported. Without verification from newspapers or other printed contemporary sources there is no way to know if the outcome was as claimed or to even to be sure that these fights actually occurred.
