"A new, aggressive Eddie Machen KO'd 6'6" Hawaiian Duke Sabedong Monday night just before the bell ending the 1st round. The 191 lb. Machen struck for his fifth straight knockout since returning to the ring after a nervous breakdown. Sabedong landed only one punch with any steam in it - a left to the midsection - but Machen brushed it off and countered with a stinging jab. Early in the round, Machen put his opponent down for an eight count with a left to the body. He continued pounding the bigger man's midsection, then suddenly unleashed a left to the jaw and a right uppercut which spelled goodnight for Sabedong." -United Press International
