Eddie Machen 196 lbs beat Joey Orbillo 183 lbs by SD in round 10 of 10

"Veteran heavyweight Eddie Machen, 196, of Berkeley, Calif., was awarded a 10 round split decision over Army Pvt. Joey Orbillo, 183, Wilmington, Calif., last night at the Olympic Auditorium. Orbillo, 20, scored well in the middle rounds, notably the 4th when he hit Machen with a vicious right-left cross that rocked the 34 year old heavyweight. Machen scored late and most effectively in the 9th and 10th rounds with body punches to break down his opponent and hand him his first defeat in 13 professional fights before 10,000 fans." -Associated Press
