"Tommy (Hurricane) Jackson went down for a five count in the 1st round when he took a left and right to the head. But from then on he remained upright although staggered repeatedly and wincing visibly under Eddie Machen's body attack. With Jackson's right eye puffed closed at the end of the 10th, Jackson's manager Lippe Briedbart called referee Frankie Carter over to view the damage and Frankie stopped it.
