Career Overview
Eddie Peoples was a promising heavyweight prospect in the early 1970s, who for unknown reasons, vanished from the boxing scene, despite an undefeated record of 8-0 (6 knockouts).
A textbook boxer, the 6 feet 1 inch., 200 pound Peoples was born in Georgia. While in his teens, his family moved to Florida. While in high school, he was a standout on the school's football and swim teams.
On a lark, he decided to take up boxing. He proved a hard worker, and his determination paid off. He compiled an undefeated record of 8-0, including an upset decision over Jimmy Summerville. Peoples was written up in Boxing Illustrated and Ring Magazine as a prospect. Peoples retired at the end of 1971 with his unblemished, undefeated record.
