"'It was a left to the ribs that did the job.' This was how Efren (Alacran) Torres explained the whipping he handed Ismael Gutierrez in the Juarez Municipal Auditorium. Torres, world's 4th ranked flyweight, decked Gutierrez after 1:30 of the 2nd stanza. The end came with a barrage of rights and lefts. A few seconds before the kayo, Gutierrez was slammed to the canvas, but got up and tried to continue. Torres didn't raise a sweat in the effort. His manager, Angel Casillas, was pleased with the standing-room only crowd, but said no plans were drawn for another Juarez bout." -El Paso Herald-Post
