Elmer "Jose" Dedeaux, Jr., 59, of Ventura, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, after a brief four-week illness.
Mr. Dedeaux was born July 17, 1952, in New Orleans, La., and was a Ventura County resident for the past 14 years coming from Los Angeles. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for four years. Elmer was an avid boxing fan and wrote a record and information book on boxing. He took great pleasure in watching his sons Matthew and Andrew play baseball, and he felt that Matthew was the "Best Hitter."
Mr. Dedeaux is survived by his beloved wife, Annette, they would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on Thursday; sons, Matthew Dedeaux, Andrew Dedeaux; father, Elmer Dedeaux, of Mississippi; brothers, Joseph and his wife Adrien Dedeaux, Robin and his wife Ricca Dedeaux, Michael Dedeaux; sister, Florence Gainer, of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Dedeaux; sister, Joy Wiltz; brothers, Arthur and Raymond Dedeaux.
