"Welterweight champion Emile Griffith outfumbled middleweight contender Don Fullmer for a unanimous decision last night in their loudly booed and nationally televised non-title 10 rounder at MSG. The estimated 4,000 fans began booing in the 5th round and kept it up until the final bell because of the futile efforts of both men, marred by nearly constant clinching and bulling. There were no knockdowns and neither fighter added to anything to his prestige during the dull 10 rounds." -United Press International
