"Welterweight champion Emile Griffith forced middleweight contender Holly Mims around the ring Saturday night with left jabs and overhand rights, and won a unanimous decision in their nationally televised non-title 10 round fight. Griffith, making his first start since regaining the 147 pound crown, coupled his forcing tactics with a body attack in a fight that drew cheers from the 4,000 in Convention Hall. Griffith, 25, made certain that he gave Mims, 34, very little punching room." -United Press International
