"Heavyweight contender Ernie Terrell, Chicago, speared veteran Zora Folley, Phoenix, with long left jabs and shook him with rights Saturday night in their nationally televised fight at MSG for a unanimous 10 round decision and his eighth straight victory. Terrell threatened to put away Folley in the 2nd and 4th rounds when long left jabs and whistling rights to the head had the 7th ranking contender staggering briefly. Folley looked like a small boy fighting a man in many of the sessions because of Ernie's towering height. Terrell was hurt only once. That was in the 8th round when Folley landed his best punch of the night, a left hook near the end of the session and knocked big Ernie into a sideways lurch. There were no knockdowns but Folley suffered a cut at the corner of his right eye in the 7th." -United Press International
