Eusebio Pedroza 126 lbs beat Pat Ford 126 lbs by KO at 3:04 in round 13 of 15

"Eusebio Pedroza of Panama retained his WBA featherweight championship Saturday with a 13th round knockout of Patrick Ford of Guyana. Pedroza was dominant throughout the fight and ahead on points when he sent Ford reeling to the canvas at the end of the round. Ford was down for a count of six when the bell sounded to mark the end of the 13th round. Regulations stipulate, however, that a fighter can only be saved by the bell in the last round and officials immediately confirmed Pedroza's victory. Both fighters drew blood. Pedroza suffered a deep cut over an eyebrow, and one of his trainers said the wound came from a blow Ford had inflicted with his elbow. From the Ford camp, the talk was of the Panamanian's use of his shoulders, elbows and head to punish the challenger." -Associated Press

  • Ford claimed weight loss on his poor performance, stating that he weighed 140 lbs. two weeks before the bout and had to work himself down to 126 for the weigh-in.
