Felipe Gomez was born and raised in East New York, Brooklyn and became involved in boxing at the age of twelve. He had over one hundred amateur fights which included winning the Junior Olympics, the Kid Gloves, the New York Golden Gloves two times each, the Spanish Gloves, the Empire State Games, the Metropolitan and Tri-State Championships. He has also had the opportunity to compete in several National and International competitions. His boxing career did not end when he stopped fighting. Instead, he became a Promoter/Matchmaker licensed by the NYS Athletic Commission. He is retired New York city police officer. Gomez trained Will Rosinsky.
