Felix DiStrito & Red

Felix DiStrito reportedly fought as "Young Aguinaldo" during the 1920s (and perhaps as "Little Dempsey" or "Young Dempsey"). Originally he had come from the Philippine Islands to California, then on to Washington D.C. by 1927 where he lived out the rest of his life.

Per a November 16, 1938 AP newsphoto report, he had over 300 bouts. DiStrito became blind and sold ice cream and peanuts in Washington, D.C., to feed his family of 12. He is shown with his guide dog Red, which he had bought at a dog pound for $2 when his original seeing eye dog was killed by an automobile. (BoxRec record uncertain.)
