Cady was the boxing promoter in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho during the 1920s. He had worked in lumber sales in the Greater Spokane Area for the Rutledge Timber Company, before leaving for New York in 1928 where he continued to work in the lumber industry. He returned to Northern Idaho in 1946. Cady, who was the son of a missionary was born in Japan.
