Bass missed many punches to begin the fight, but did land enough to slow Locatelli down a little. Locatelli controlled the bout from the 4th to the 7th round, as he gave Bass a pounding to the body. Bass caught a break when his glove split after the 7th round, the delay appeared to give Bass an added bit of energy, as he rallied to take the last three rounds. Bass staggered Locatelli with three left hooks in the 8th round, and had him hurt again in the 10th round.
