After two slow rounds, de la Cruz landed a right to the chin of Bean, which put him down for a nine-count. Bean recovered, and starting with the 5th round swept all the remaining rounds as he tagged de la Cruz with left hooks and jabs. In the 10th round, Bean landed six good right hands that had de la Cruz on the verge of a stoppage at the final bell.
