Ezzard Charles continued his whirlwind invasion of the professional ranks last night by stopping Frankie Williams of Akron, by a technical knockout in the sixth round in Leader's Parkway Arena. Moving fast and connecting with straight punches, the local middleweight blasted Williams all over the ring in the fifth heat. Referee Pat Daly stopped the fight when Williams attempted to answer the bell at the sixth round.

This bout was Ezzard Charles' first main event.
