Daniel MacKinnon 159 lbs beat Fili Mailata 159 lbs by TKO in round 7 of 12

Fili Mailata started bleeding profusely from the mouth in round 7. Referee stopped the fight immediately, ambulance was called and he was rushed to the hospital. Doctors had to break his jaw in order to insert numerous stitches inside his mouth.
Mailata accepted the NZ Middleweight Title fight at short notice, eventhough he was suspended for 4 weeks by Australian doctor Ron Findlay after his KO3 loss to Gavin Topp on Gold Coast Australia on November 11.
Regulating/governing body New Zealand National Boxing Federation claims it had no knowledge of the suspension.
