Luciano Prepares For Rangel Fight

Rocky Luciano, rugged Italian lad from Harrisburg, Pa arrived from the East yesterday and has commenced training for a return 10 round match in Fresno with Sheik Rangel the night of July 31st in Ryan’s Auditorium.

Luciano, who boxed a draw with Rangel on June 26th, will train in Watsonville under the guidance of Gene Hoularis, formerly a fighter in the Midwest.

Trained in the East

Luciano went East for a family reunion and reported he kept in training while there.

Terms were agreed on by Luciano after he insisted on getting the same percentage of the gate as Rangel will get. He asserted that he was entitled to the same because of the draw that he received in the first fight which was a hard fought brawl.

The Fresno Boxing club said owing to the size of the purses to be paid boxers and at their requests all complimentary tickets will be omitted and there will be no reduction in the prices of any tickets.

Rangel is back in training after a short layoff following his technical knockout victory over Speedy Cannon here last week.
