Miller got off to a fast start, and scored repeatedly in the first two rounds. Wilson began to find Miller in the 4th round, however Miller cut Wilson on the side of the right eye in the 5th round. Wilson continued to force the fight with Miller, landing a low blow on Miller, that led to a temporary stoppage for Miller to recover. Miller appeared slowed by the low blow the rest of the way. The local fans booed the decision against Miller.
