After a few seconds of feinting and shadow boxing, Ponce landed his first punch of the fight, a left hand to the face of Serrano that sent his foe through the ropes. Serrano struggled to his feet at the count of nine, but appeared to be in bad shape. Callahan allowed the bout to continue, but changed his mind and stopped the bout as Ponce rushed in to finish the fight.
