The bout was stopped early in the 5th due to an accidental clash of heads that opened a cut on Swartz. For the first 4 rounds, Swartz was much more aggressive than the more technically-minded Brown; Swartz landed more big punches, while Brown seemed content to look for openings and throw jabs. Swartz' aggressive, head- first style, appeared to cause the cut to himself.
