Montano went down early in the 2nd, and came back up only to catch a solid left hook directly over his liver. He fell in the middle of the ring, and immediately kicked referee Curtis Thrasher in the leg to indicate his disinclination to continue; he couldn't breathe, so the ring doctor was brought in immediately. Fortunately, it was a severe case of having his wind knocked out, and he quickly recoverd to stand under his own power.
