According to the Chicago Tribune (Bob Soderman) of November 28, 1939, "..Leon Rains, chairman of the Pennsylvania Boxing Commission, declared that the bout between (Pat Comiskey and Emil Scholz, on November 27) had been a 'fake.' He also said that Scholz would not be paid his purse of $300.00, and would be barred from fighing in Pennsylvania ever again."
