A few seconds into the bout, the two boxers clinched. After Mastrean broke the two boxers, Angott let go a left hook on Rodak's unprotected jaw, that knocked him down for a nine count. After rising unsteadily, Rodak was knocked down again for a nine count after a flurry. Rodak was sent down for a third and fourth time, rising unsteadily each time. After the 4th knockdown, Mastrean stepped in to stop the bout. Rodak's manager Nate Lewis immeadiately filed a complaint, alleging a foul had been committed.
