Eddie Gazo 152 lbs beat Jae Keun Lim 152 lbs by SD in round 15 of 15
- Date: 1977-12-18
- Location: Sunin Gymnasium, Incheon, South Korea
- Referee: Jay Edson 147-146
- Judge: Ricardo Rizzo 147-144
- Judge: Jin Kuk Kim 148-150
It was a 'poorly fought bout', as the 15-Rounder was marred by constant clinching as the 9500 partisan South Korean fans booed and jeered the Champion.
There was little action, as the Champion used a 'hit-and-run' tactic, and the hard-hitting Challenger Jae-Keum pursued in an attempt to land his powerful punches. Eddie Gazo was effective in holding the Challenger, and thwarted his offensive charges.
Only in Round 6, was Jae-Keum able to hurt the Champion, when he landed a 'thudding' body punch, which buckled the legs of Gazo. Otherwise, the Champion prevented the Challenger from landing many of his free-swinging dangerous uppercuts.
