From fightnews.com Controversy mars Aachen card!

The boxing card of the former international German heavyweight champion Mario Guedes last Saturday in Aachen, Germany was a small event in a cozy arena with five even and hard-fought matches, plus an attractive side show of a local dance group. It all could have been a wonderful night if not for the officials of the newly formed German Boxing Organization.

The scandal occurred in an eliminator fight for the German Boxing Organisation version of the German super middleweight championship over six (!) rounds. The match between Ommid Mostaghim (3-0-0) of Pound 4 Pound (P-4-P) Box-Promotion, Aachen, and Haxhi Krasniqi (7-2-0) of Pro-Box, Munich, was hard fought. At the end, in a very tight decision (58-57, 58-57, 59-59) the judges scored the bout for the Munich fighter.

But it was not the scoring of the fight (although Fightnews saw the Aachen fighter Mostaghim ahead by a few points) that gave the decision a rotten smell – it was the conduct of the neutral official of the German Boxing Organisation, who during almost every break between rounds wandered over to where Krasniqi’s relatives were sitting and exchanged a couple of words with them.

One could not help getting the impression that the delegate reported on the state of the fight or rather the state of the scorecards.

Guedes of P-4-P lodged protest with the German Boxing Orgaisation against the decision while still in the ring.
