Fernandez knocked Bell down with two rights to the jaw in the final round, for a five-count. Fernandez eventually caught up with Bell with a two-handed barrage and dropped him for nine. Fernandez then pummeled Bell, until he was all but out, and stepped away and landed a finishing left-right to the jaw. Bell took the full count, and had to be revived by his corner. Bell was also down in the 3rd round, though the Honolulu Advertiser felt he wasn't hurt.
