Corbett dominated Thompson, winning every round. Thompson threw hardly any blows in the first few rounds, and had his best round in the 5th round. In the 9th round, Corbett knocked Thompson down with a left hand to the chin, for a nine-count. Thompson arose wobbly, and was lucky to finish the round. Thompson was wobbly again in the 10th round, but Corbett was unable to finish him.
