Minelli dominated the first six rounds, as he kept Montgomery off-balance with his movement and left hand. Montgomery came on in the later rounds, particularly the 8th and 9th as he was able to catch up to the tiring Minelli. Montgomery lost the 2nd and 6th rounds, due to low blows.
