The two sparred mostly in the 1st round, as Ran just missed with several right hands, as Steele worked with his left hook. Steele won the second as he continued to land his left hook, and twice jarred Ran with his right hand. Steele had his best round in the 3rd round, as he sent Ran to the ropes with a right hand. Though he didn't hit the canvas, the referee administered a count on Ran. Ran came back stronger in the 4th round, which was even. Ran backpedaled in the 5th round, as he essentially conceded the round for the purposes of a final rally. The two fought a furious 6th, with Steele having the edge.
