According to the promoter: A tall and lanky Haskins came jumping out of the corner chasing Simmons around the ring. Haskins landed some solid punches at the end of the first round and finished the round strong, but the second round belonged to Simmons. Simmons knocked Haskins to the ropes with a powerful right hook and then followed with another right hook that knocked Haskins to his knees. The round ended as Haskins hit the mat again, and the doctor ruled that he was no longer eligible to fight.
