An accidental head-butt in the third opened a cut above Quilaton’s eye leading to a stoppage of the fight based upon the advice of the ringside physician. The GAB rules say that in a four or a six rounder fight, if a boxer is unable to continue as a result of an injury coming from an accidental head-butt, the bout shall go to the scorecards if the stoppage occurred in the second half of the fight, that is, once the bell for the round starting the second half had sounded. When the scorecards were tallied, Diale emerged the winner via a technical unanimous decision by the scores of 29-28, 30-28, and 30-27.
