Cochrane was a clear winner over Berg, who won two of his three rounds because of low punches by Cochrane. Cochrane worked Berg's body in the first two rounds, before Berg attempted his windmill attack in the 3rd round. Cochrane, however, rocked him left hooks several times, to win the round narrowly. Cochrane controlled the fight until the last three rounds, when he began to coast a bit. Berg attempted to save the fight in the final round, with a windmill attack, before Cochrane responded with an attack of his own, that cut Berg under his left eye.
