McAuley was down in the 1st round and cut on the right eye. Bassa was knocked down in the 3rd round, and was down in the 6th round for what was not ruled a knockdown. Bassa was down twice in the 9th round. In the 13th round, Bassa, trailing on the scorecards caught McAuley on the ropes, before putting him down, at which point McAuley's corner threw in the towel.
