Brown knocked McIntyre down in the 8th round with a right to the chin. McIntyre surprisingly rose at the count of nine, and then attacked Brown with a whirlwind attack. After Brown weathered the storm, he had had McIntyre in trouble again, leading McIntyre's corner to throw in the towel. Brown had the edge most of the way up to the stoppage.
