Billy Petrolle 135 lbs beat Frankie Schaeffer 135 lbs by KO at 2:10 in round 1 of 10

- Location: East Chicago, Indiana, USA CHICAGO, ILL., June 21 (AP). - Billy Petrolle, the Fargo lightweight won a technical knockout over Frank Schaefer of Chicago in the first round of a scheduled 10-round match at East Chicago tonight. Schaefer received hard punches to the head, sank to his knees and was counted out. After the count was finished he got to his feet and attempted to resume the fight but was led to his corner. Schaefer, hopelessly outclassed, failed to land a solid blow while Petrolle swarmed all over him from the start and had things all his own way. They weighed 135 pounds at 3 o'clock. In the semi windup Midget Smith of New York fought 10 fairly even rounds with Ray Rychell of Chicago. Rychell was floored in the first round but made a strong finish.
