This was an exciting fight, according to the Newark Evening News. Referee Healey had the bout even through eight rounds, but Larkin closed strongly to take the last two rounds, to take a well received verdict. Larkin was cut under the left eye in the 1st round. Larkin did his most effective punching to the body, while Fisher used a left jab nicely, that he followed with right crosses often.
