The official scorecard of Joe Mangold, gave Larkin rounds 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 10; while Rohrig was given rounds 5 and 8; with rounds 2 and 6 even. Rohrig and his manager Sam Faillace, disagreed with the decision, calling it an outright robbery. The Passaic Herald-News agreed with the verdict, scoring 6-3-1 in rounds for Larkin.
The Herald-News reported that newspapermen were unanimous in the opinion that Larkin won decisively. Larkin showed superior boxing skill, they felt, landed more damaging punches, and with the exception of the 5th and 6th rounds, was always ahead. Rohrig was the aggressor in the bout, but failed to land effectively on Larkin.
