Perrin outboxed Luizza over most of the first five rounds. In the 6th round, Perrin landed a left hook to the body that put Luizza down for a nine-count. Perrin outboxed Luizza in the the 7th round, and went to work on his body in the 8th round. Early in the 9th round, Perrin again floored Luizza with a left hook to the body for a nine-count. Perrin dished out a pounding to Luizza over the remainder of the 9th round. In the 10th round, Perrin was outboxing and outspeeding Luizza, when he floored him with a left hook to the jaw. Luizza appeared to be out for the count, but his corner threw in the towel.
