Mike Gibbons 160 lbs beat Happy Littleton 160 lbs by PTS in round 15 of 15
- Date: 1921-10-31
- Location: Louisiana Auditorium, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
- Referee: Al Wambsgans
Gibbons was floored twice but his clever boxing carried him through. Gibbons was down in round one and in a bad way, but Littleton failed to go in for the knockout. After that Gibbons was his master and handed out a comprehensive thrashing to the New Orleans fighter. Afterward, Littleton said that a wicked right that landed on his Adam's apple in round four did him in. Littleton had another opportunity in round twelve when he scored his second knockdown, but Gibbons got up complaining to the referee, something he did throughout the fight. Gibbons was so far in front after the 15 rounds that Referee Al Wambsgans had an easy job in picking the winner. This fight was reported in detail in the New Orleans Times-Picayune (Jack Kincaid). 9000 fans filled the Louisiana Auditorium for this battle.
