- Date: 1914-07-04
- Location: Coffroth's Arena, Daly City, California, USA
- Referee: Jim Griffin
Chip got off to a very slow start, as he ceded much of the first half of the bout to Murray. Chip became stronger in the second half of the bout, as Murray became more reckless. Chip scored a knockdown in the 11th round, with a left hook to the head. After this Murray appeared to be concerned with reaching the end of the bout, while Chip who was tired was economical with his punching. In the 15th round, Chip landed a powerful left hook to the jaw, followed by another right to the jaw that put Murray down for the count. Referee Jim Griffin stated that Murray was winning at the time of the knockout.
