Notes

  • Arroyo was the third opponent penciled in for this fight.
  • Initially, Jones was scheduled to fight Larry Mosley on March 6, 2009, but the latter had to pull out as a result of a back injury and Jones instead faced late substitute Dairo Jose Esalas. A new fight with Mosley was therefore scheduled for June 6, but it had to be postponed to August 8 as a result of a Jones bicep injury.
  • However, Mosley dropped out again one week before the fight after poison from a growth on his face got into his bloodstream, necessitating surgery and was replaced by Ben Tackie.
  • Tackie subsequently dropped out as well when he couldn't clear his pre-fight physical, and was finally replaced by Arroyo.
