On October 30, 1915 Brooklyn Daily Eagle and Brooklyn Standard Union reported that Jack Britton was to meet Terry Mitchell at Clermont A.C., but the next day the same two newspapers only reported the results of two other bouts that were scheduled for that club - Young Ahearn vs. Jack Reed and Abe Friedman vs Charlie Goodman, no Britton-Mitchell fight was mentioned. New York Sun reported the result of Ahearn-Reed bout, again with no mention of Britton-Mitchell bout. If the bout had taken place after all, it had to be on another date, than October 30, 1915.
