From the Dayton Journal (Herb Goldman). This fight was nearly the mirror image of the previous meeting of the two fighters except that it ended in round three instead of round two. Sekyra won the first round because the Kid was cautious after his previous experience. The Kid became more aggressive in round two, only to be floored twice by rights to the chin. In round three Sekyra was caught by a hard right to the mid-section while "half-ensnared in the ropes. Breaking loose, the groggy Bohemian reeled across the ring where Alabama dropped him for the first time." Sekyra staggered to his feet at "nine" but Alabama quickly whipped over a hard right that put him down for the count.
