Woods outpointed Morris in the first three rounds, before Morris' strength allowed him to take control of the bout. Morris put Woods down for a nine-count in the 5th round, but exhausted himself trying to finish Woods, and was in trouble by the time the round ended. Woods continued to press his advantage in the 6th round, but left his jaw unprotected and was floored again. Morris attempted to rise, but his feet were tangled in the ropes and he failed to beat the count.
