Thomas Dejarnette, the prison heavyweight boxing champion, stopped Tunney Hunsaker in the eighth and final round of a bout behind prison walls. Dejarnette knocked down Hunsaker twice in the final round before referee Jimmy Colombo stopped it with 50 seconds gone. Hunsaker never had a chance in the match behind the 28 foot walls. The crowd was made up of 400 visitors and 450 of the 1,600 inmates, who were for Dejarnette all the way. Dejarnette is serving a life sentence for murder. (NY Times from AP report).
