- Dalphone, a Roy Jones Jr. sparring partner, fought a game but losing effort as Mussachio narrowly outpointed him. Dalphone, to this point, had gone the distance in all eleven of his bouts but won only two of them. Mussachio noted in the post fight interview after the bout "Dalphone's record is deceiving, and somewhere along the way, his career had to have been mismanaged. After fighting the quality fight he did against me, his record should have been 11-0."
