- Munoz was still on his feet at the time of stoppage, but was taking a lot of punishment.
- With this win, Mike Jones tied Chris Smith's record for successful defenses of the NABA Welterweight title.
- Jones had height and reach advantage, and found an open target for all five rounds for left jabs, double jabs, and uppercuts.
- Munoz appeared in condition, tried to take the fight to the inside at center ring, and kept trying, but was unsuccessful.
- Midway through round 5, Jones landed a big right hand, and Munoz appeared out on his feet after absorbing a great deal of punishment, forcing the stoppage.
